Between Trust and Trauma is built on mutual aid — not charity, not nonprofit structure, not the approval of existing power systems. We look out for one another because that’s the only model that actually works.

Right now, honestly, this work is carried almost entirely by me — Malene. I built this after surviving serious institutional abuse at The Guidance Center in Flagstaff, AZ. Many survivors have reached out, shared what happened to them, and trusted me with their stories. That trust is not taken lightly. I never publish anyone else’s experience without specific consent.

But I can’t do this alone. I’m disabled, living on disability income, and I carry both the workload and the expenses. In the spirit of mutual aid, here’s what I’m asking:

If you can give time — share what I write, encourage survivors to file complaints, help research The Guidance Center’s funding sources or complaint patterns; or contribute your own story to hold The Guidance Center, or other clinics, accountable. There’s real work to do and many ways to contribute. Only by stepping up together can we build enough accountability to make changes.

If you can give money — donations go directly to advertising, maintaining this platform, and the AI tools that make the work sustainable.
I’m not going to tell you how much to give or exactly how to show up. I trust you to be generous within your capacity. Support will be here for you regardless.
Financially, I can be supported on either the paypal platform or the Ko-Fi platform.
