The mental health system is supposed to help us heal. Some of us are harmed instead.

I am Malene, and I survived psychiatric and mental health abuse — including a hold that turned violent. This page exists because I am not the only one, and because survivors deserve better.

Between Trust and Trauma is a survivor-led space for mutual aid and peer support, public accountability, and a demand that trauma-informed care become real — not a marketing claim. We support survivors of institutional harm. We call out psychiatric abuse. We push for change through community, education, and refusal to stay silent.

If you’ve been harmed by the mental health system — coerced, restrained, gaslit, diagnosed against your will, or silenced — I am sorry. You are not alone. I want this to be your home.
