Dear NAU IRB and Internal Audits,

I would like to add an addendum to the questions I submitted in regards to the Shelter Project that the James Wurgler Endowment fund, The Guidance Center (TGC), and Flagstaff Shelter Services (FSS) are running together. I believe this current timeline perfectly illustrates the systemic lack of organizational safety I have outlined in my previous letters, which arrived via certified mail at your campus facility at 8:25 AM yesterday, Wednesday, August 12th.

In May of 2024, I accused The Guidance Center’s PAC unit and its charge nurse, Kylie Hansard (AKA Kaia Marie Manas), of committing severe clinical and patient rights violations against me. I attempted to work with TGC on an equitable outcome, but because I was heavily compromised psychiatrically at the time and facing extreme medical gaslighting, I was unable to fully protect my rights. TGC’s executive leadership knew exactly what happened as I personally discussed it with CEO Devon Forrest.

In March of 2025, following a pattern of ongoing violations, I filed a formal nursing board complaint against the charge nurse with the Arizona State Board of Nursing. Throughout this entire period, TGC actively protected their nurse and maintained her in a supervisory role. That complaint entered the formal nursing board investigation stage in May of 2026 under Investigator “name redacted”, and TGC continued to hold their hand over their nurse. She is the individual I have documented on my website as the “staff member still under investigation.”

This week, that dynamic shattered. After I submitted my formal questions for your review this past weekend and into Monday morning, August 10th, TGC appears to have abruptly terminated her employment. Following her apparent termination, Ms. Manas executed a rapid-fire retaliatory strike:

At 2:30 PM on Monday, August 10th: She utilized an online form to send an un-lawyered, highly reactive Cease and Desist threat directly to my personal email, explicitly acknowledging my identity outside of a clinical setting — an action that constitutes a severe, retaliatory HIPAA violation patient contact. In that email, she explicitly stated that TGC was her “former” employer.

At 3:30 PM on Monday, August 10th: Precisely one hour later, my secondary public documentation page on Medium was targeted and suspended due to a coordinated policy report.

Concurrent Job Posting: On that same day, a fresh job posting appeared on The Guidance Center’s website actively seeking a new Nurse Manager to replace her position.

The corporate strategy here is obvious. The moment I began asking hard questions and exposing the reality that an abusive charge nurse under active state board of nursing investigation would be receiving vulnerable people from the Huntington Drive shelter, TGC realized she was too toxic of a liability to maintain. They fired her to protect their institutional contracts before your offices could ask too many questions.

TGC held their hand over a dangerous, volatile practitioner for two full years while knowing the severe harm she caused. Their sudden decision to cut her loose now proves they do not prioritize patient safety; they prioritize whistleblower retaliation and risk containment and the protection of university funding.

I am adding this timeline to the official record as concrete evidence that The Guidance Center is not a safe, ethical organization to interact with highly compromised individuals at a wet shelter facility.

Thank you for your attention,
