Trauma-informed care (TIC) is the framework that makes mental health care safe, effective, and not retraumatizing for people who have already experienced too much. TIC is how we approach trauma and mental health care in 2026. Unfortunately, by far most clinics and hospitals are horrifically behind in learning and implementing this vital framework; these clinics are so invested in top-down treatment and frankly, power struggles that Trauma Informed Care never has a chance. These articles are about Trauma Informed Care from the perspective of a survivor — when it works, when it doesn’t work, and what needs to be done better.
